How to Measure
PulseX Neo uses your camera to detect tiny changes in blood flow through your fingertip — the same principle as hospital pulse oximeters.
1
Open your camera page
Tap the heart icon in the bottom nav to go to the Home screen. You'll see the camera viewfinder.
2
Use the breathing guide
A 30-second breathing guide will appear before scanning to calm your heart rate for accurate resting readings.
3
Enable your torch / flashlight
The app tries to enable it automatically. If not, turn on your phone's flashlight manually.
4
Press fingertip over the lens
Place your index fingertip firmly over the rear camera lens. The viewfinder should turn red/dark.
5
Feel the haptic heartbeat
During the 30-second scan, your phone will vibrate in real-time with every detected heartbeat pulse.
6
View your results & earn badges
After the scan, view your heart rate, HRV, zone, and recovery score. Complete milestones to earn achievement badges.
💡 Tips for best accuracy
• Sit still and breathe normally during the scan
• Use in a dimly lit room (reduces ambient light noise)
• Measure at the same time each day for trend tracking
• Wait 5 minutes after exercise before measuring resting HR
• The signal quality bar should be above 50% for reliable results
• Enable haptic feedback in Settings for real-time heartbeat vibration

Understanding Your Metrics
Heart Rate (BPM)
Beats per minute. Resting: 60–100 normal. Athletes often 40–60.
HRV (Heart Rate Variability)
Variation in time between beats (RMSSD). Higher = better recovery. Typical: 20–80ms.
Recovery Score
Composite of HRV and resting heart rate. 75+ = ready to train. Below 50 = rest day.
Haptic Heartbeat
Real-time vibration pulses synced to your detected heartbeat using the Vibration API. Requires Android or supported device.
